{"id":313,"date":"2025-02-15T21:39:08","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T21:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cofe-pontefract.co.uk\/st-stephens\/?page_id=313"},"modified":"2026-03-12T00:10:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T00:10:13","slug":"governance-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cofe-pontefract.co.uk\/st-stephens\/governance-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parochial Church Council<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Parochial Church Council (P.C.C.) has the responsibility of co-operating with the incumbent, The Reverend Ian Bullock in promoting in the ecclesiastical Parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. It also has maintenance responsibilities for St Stephens&#8217;s Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The method of appointment of PCC members is set out in the Church Representation Rules.  All Church attendees are encouraged to register on the Electoral Roll and stand for election to the P.C.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find out more about the roles and responsibilities of the elected members <a href=\"https:\/\/cofe-pontefract.co.uk\/roles-within-church\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The P.C.C. meets bi-monthly to discuss all matters relating to governance of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the alternating month, the Standing Committee, the only committee required by law meets. It has power to transact the business of the P.C.C. between its meetings, subject to any directions given by the council.
